The event will allow the Marquesan population to discover the latest local productions, some from metropolitan France, but above all it will allow them to meet, exchange ideas, take advice from the writers and publishers present and of course buy Books.
“The majority of authors present are Polynesian authors, or who have lived in Polynesia for a long time”explains Franck Loubet, president of the Paevii association. “We hope, through the show, that they show us their worlds and above all that they make it obvious that there are things to say, to write about the Polynesian world, its history and its society. ‘Today. This show is a real plus for local populations, who do not need to travel to Tahiti to have access to this diversity of works, some of which are very recent.”
On the other hand, the speakers from the Paevii association have chosen to put local youth at the heart of the book fair by organizing numerous workshops every morning for schoolchildren, middle schoolers and high school students from Nuku Hiva around the authors and their latest works.
