The emergence of culinary art

An immersion offered at the heart of this period, which left us words, expressions and adages still used today, where the culinary art developed with its local specialties, the emergence of the first recipe books and the rules of decorum . A perspective of the Middle Ages far removed from the reductive image of an era of gluttons and barbarians!

These texts, enriched and detailed in this beautifully illustrated book, come from a study day organized in September 2023 during the 7e Damazan medieval forum. Contributed to it: Alain Paraillous, Alban Gautier, Gérard Régimbeau, Sandrine Lavaud, Pierre Simon, Jean-Paul Valois, and Judicaël Petrowiste. Conferences on this theme, accompanied by the loan of the exhibition, led by Jean-Paul Valois or Pierre Simon, will be available on request from associations or municipalities.
