The La Mazille Prize rewards a monograph or collective work on cooking, culinary practices, food, food products or eating in general, published in the year preceding the festival, published in French, remarkable for its originality of content and /or for the originality of its graphic approach.
Seven works were in competition, but it is that of Gui Gedda, My life rubbed with garlic published by Editions de l'Epure which convinced the jury.

Gui Gedda, nicknamed the Pope of Provençal cuisine or the Pagnol of French gastronomy, has established himself over the decades as a prolific author, accomplishing a remarkable work of codifying traditional Provençal cuisine through around fifteen works where Stories and tasty recipes intertwine.
This new work, rich in nearly 500 preparations and a multitude of anecdotes, is no exception to the rule. A life rubbed with garlic reveals the secrets of bouillabaisse, trotters and packets, pistou soup, ratatouille or petit farcis, while highlighting the talents of a storyteller whose humor, verve and sensitivity sparkle on every page.
The Dame Tartine Prize rewards a book on cooking, culinary practices, food, food products or eating in general, written for young people, published in the year preceding the festival, published in French.
It is awarded by children aged 8 to 12 by vote. Voting opens one month before the show and closes on the eve of the Gourmet Book Festival. Children in the city of Périgueux are made aware by their teachers during school time, and by educators during after-school time. The Dame Tartine prize is the only prize awarded by children in this field.
This year, it’s Delphine Lebrun and My super party desserts! (editions Mango) which was chosen over the five titles in competition.
His book presents a gourmet and festive universe where we learn to prepare succulent desserts: biscuits in the shape of witch's fingers, rolled logs, pink strawberry charlotte, galette des rois… 18 recipes to celebrate birthdays, Christmas , Halloween, Easter and many other holidays. In addition, 6 workshops explained step by step with photos to create magnificent table and ambiance decorations.
