Give something to read: the Gribouille bookstore supports children with Secours Populaire

Until November 20, the Gribouille bookstore is participating in the ‘Donner à lire’ solidarity event to offer to children.

Until November 20, the Gribouille bookstore (rue Maréchal Foch) is one of the partner bookstores for the “Donner à lire” action, an event organized by Télévisions and Secours populaire.

The idea is simple: give a book to a child who doesn’t have one.

“I discovered this action thanks to the French Bookstore Union last year,” explains Marie-Laure Pitout of the Gribouille bookstore. “I immediately liked this idea. Being able to offer a book to a child who has few or none is a plus. The principle is quite simple: a customer from the store enters the bookstore. made his purchases, including a book for ‘Donner to read’. At the time of payment, the book to be donated will join the others in the donation box until November 20. On this date, I will send the books to Secours Populaire. Hautes-Pyrénées during the concert ‘Santa Claus is a rocker’ at La Gespe.”

An action that works. At the Gribouille bookstore, customers even come into the store to buy books to donate.

“At present, I have received around fifty books,” concludes the bookseller. “But if other people want to participate in this action, they should not hesitate.”
