The Deux-Sèvres department, committed to the success of young people, is dedicating the third edition of its Children’s Week to “Books and Children”. Indeed, children have fundamental rights, enshrined in the International Convention on the Rights of the Child signed in 1989: to be protected, fed, cared for, educated, to have the freedom to express themselves… To them, it is appropriate to ‘add reading access. Reading develops knowledge, thinking and the ability to dream. These dreams that make life plans. The objective of this event is to raise awareness among families and children of the importance of reading from an early age. Reading plays a vital role in the development of children, stimulating their imagination and providing them with the keys to better understand the world around them. Creative workshops, meetings with authors and shows are all ways for children to share a special moment to discover or rediscover the pleasure of reading as a family! Children’s Week returns for its 3rd edition! This year, there are more than 40 free events for the whole family throughout the Deux-Sèvres department: reading sessions, workshops, author-illustrator meetings, shows… Several events will take place in Thouarsais on Wednesday, November 20.
