Three sites to honor and paper, November 17 in Lumbres and Esquerdes

The Book and Paper Festival is back this Sunday, November 17! For the occasion, the event is moving to three sites to allow the public to discover other places and take the time. Ahead of the festival, the twelve media libraries of the PLUME network present the history committee's exhibition dedicated to the paper industry.

As every year, it is in the Léo-Lagrange room that we can meet around thirty authors. Karine Deraedt, Alice Mazzoni, Gaëlle Lavisse, Lydia Lardet Szafulski (who comes with her puppet), Michèle Hoyez, Karine Gournay, Laurent Fayeulle, Nathalie Delbaere, Yoann Blanquart and Céline Prudhomme are participating for the first time. Five publishers will also be present, Zigomo d'Arques, La petite factory de livres, the editions of The Voice of the NorthTeetras Magic then Mots et Merveilles. As for new products, SICAL will exhibit its know-how while Lumbrois Florian Delrue will exhibit his artistic creations.

Meeting with artists

On leaving, those who wish can open the door of La Boutique singulière for a writing workshop, accompanied by the jazz group Les Suisses hydrates who will play acoustically during the inauguration. In the afternoon, the group Les Acharnistes (one voice and one guitar) will record the texts produced in the morning and those of Lionel Houssam.

Finally, in Esquerdes, at the Maison du papier, five artists will welcome visitors. Namely Benoit Saison, the illuminator Elsa Falempin, Hugo Henri who uses old typewriters, the visual artist Gaëtane Lheureux and the writer Juline Jourdain. Michel Vermeulen, president of the association for the preservation and promotion of Hallines' heritage, will retrace paper-making life in Hallines. To get to the different sites, the tourist train is chartered: departure from Arques at 2 p.m., stop at Esquerdes and Lumbres, return is scheduled around 5 p.m.
