For 15 years, within the Millavine charity A Tous Cœurs, a group of local history enthusiasts have been working to preserve and pass on our heritage. Initially focused on Millavois, these amateur historians are now expanding their work to our entire department.
Their approach may seem paradoxical: rediscovering the colors of the past to make it closer while highlighting the most surprising contrasts of time. But does this visual proximity not allow us to construct a more detailed knowledge of this bygone time, both so close and so far from our contemporary society?
The author of this new opus, Cédric Cadaux, invites us on a “butterflies”, a stroll through discoveries and encounters. So, let’s not deprive ourselves of the pleasure of sharing the daily life of our ancestors, let’s find their beautiful images of yesteryear, let’s listen to their words left on the back of the postcards, let’s reread their diaries…
This book is on sale in bookstores or online at: atouscoeursmillau.org. On the association’s website, you will find a download link for the first 20 pages as well as a presentation video and an audio interview with the author.
Let us point out that the author and all the contributors worked voluntarily and that the profits from the sales will supplement the budget of the association intended for aid for the benefit of poor people.
