Yann Boulanger dedicates his book on all the unpublished stories and anecdotes of the Arc de Triomphe on November 16 at the Gentleman's Club in Auteuil

Born in the seraglio, Yann Boulanger, equipment supplier for jockeys, releases a completely atypical book on the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, since he draws up the portrait with unpublished stories and anecdotes of all the winners since the 1st edition in 1920. Not only on horses, but also and especially on jockeys, trainers, owners and breeders. Welcomed by the Club of Gentleman-riders and Horsewomen, between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, he will hold a signing session there on the occasion of the opening day of the 48 Hours of Jumping.

The preface is signed by crack jockey Olivier Peslier, who also makes the cover of the book in the saddle on Peintre Célèbre, who competes with Sea Bird for the title of greatest winner of the Arc of all time. He is also a personal friend of the editor. His face is well known in the world of galloping. Son of a jockey and himself a former gentleman rider and assistant trainer to Alain de Royer-Dupré, Yann Boulanger is the creator of the company Kentucky Sport Wear, based in Nort/Erdre, specializing in clothing and equipment for training riders and jockeys.

Yann Boulanger

I have always loved history and writing, but I took on this project when my mother became ill. It took me 3 years of work. The originality of the project is that biographies are told with stories and anecdotes about all the people who have won the race since the first edition in 1920, whether they are jockeys, trainers, owners or breeders. We had to contact hundreds of people to do the interviews, family, descendants, entourages. There are 300 photos in total, including 120 unpublished photos, which come from the exceptional archives of the APRH.”

The book is out on October 2, published by Amalthée. Olivier Peslier himself was present on the day of the Arc de Triomphe for a signing session.
