This work contains several photos of the solar eclipse of April 8.

That day, the photographer climbed onto the roof of the TVA Group offices to immortalize this celestial spectacle.

“It’s the fault of Julie Marcoux who came to see me and said: ‘What are you doing on the day of the eclipse?’ I told him: “nothing”,” she explained in an interview on the show Quebec Morningmardi.

His colleague then suggested that he sit at the top of the building to take photos before going on air at 5 p.m.

“That day I had my two favorite tasks. I was an anchor and I was a photographer, said Mme Thibault. It was wonderful.”

“We all lived together with a community, a collegiality that day,” she added. I think there were plenty of people who didn’t expect to experience a moment like this, who were knocked down everywhere. It’s an extraordinary scientific phenomenon.”

An experience of a lifetime

The host also offers photos in her book of her photo session with Diane Dufresne which lasted almost 14 hours at the museum which bears the singer’s name, in Repentigny.

“Diane and her partner Richard allowed me to live an extraordinary photographic and artistic experience. I don’t think I’ll ever experience that again in my life,” said M.me Thibault.

The latter claimed that she had no expertise in portraits before this meeting with M.me Dufresne. “I was buoyed by his confidence,” she said.

The photographer explained that one of the challenges was taking photos inside a museum.

“I wasn’t ready, but it was miraculous. It gave good results. I am very happy and they were very happy,” she said.

Sophie Thibault also takes a lot of photos of animals, especially birds and insects that she finds in her garden.

“I think I’m just too embarrassed to take photos of human beings,” she said with a smile.

The one who studied psychology still says she is happy to show her talents to society.

“There is something like a desire to make people aware of beauty, then of the importance of preserving the environment,” she stressed.

Photosensitive will be on sale in Quebec bookstores from November 13.
