From November 8 to 10, the town of Brive-la-Gaillarde hosts the 42nd edition of the Brive Book Fair at the Halle Georges Brassens. During this literary event, authors take the time to meet and discuss with their readers but also to sign their works. This year, François Hollande traveled to this city in the southwest of France to present his book entitled The challenge of governing (ed. Perrin), released on September 5.
The former President of the Republic then took the time to chat with those who came to see him at his stand. He also greeted Jean-Louis Debré. Not far from him, just a few stands apart, his ex-partner, Valérie Trierweiler was also present on the scene. The journalist, smiling, was in the company of Constance Vergara with whom she co-wrote her book called It's for a friend! (ed. Les Arènes), published on October 10. A manual for fifty-year-olds in which they deconstruct preconceived ideas once they are over fifty.

Valérie Trierweiler reconciled with François Hollande: this detail that says a lot
At the Brive Book Fair, the two exes undoubtedly greeted each other since, despite the circumstances of their breakup in 2014, they managed to maintain cordial relations. On January 25, 2014, François Hollande announced his separation from Valérie Trierweiler through a press release. The former spouses would then have been at odds since their breakup occurred two weeks after the magazine Closer revealed, with supporting photographs, the affair of the former President of the Republic with the actress Julie Gayet. But since then, they have publicly reconciled during a meeting organized in a restaurant, explained Élise Karlin, journalist and author of the book.
