“My carbonara perfected in the best Roman trattorias; my famous lemon cake borrowed from Martine, a friend of my mother; the tarragon chicken passed down by three-star chef Anne-Sophie Pic, who got it from her mother Suzanne; my coconut milk soup brought from Bangkok; the pissaladière pecked at Dominique Le Stanc, the chef of La Merenda in Nice; the irresistible crème caramel of my childhood… I have brought together in this collection my 155 ultimate recipes.
Popular or bourgeois, street food or gourmet, slow-cooked or out of the closet, Corsican, Italian, Balkan, Asian… They draw on all influences but nourish the same ambition: to be all delicious and unfailing. And since good recipes are also great stories, I tell you the tasty stories and juicy anecdotes that hide behind each of them. Three-star chef Michel Guérard was right when he told me: “The best recipes are those that are shared.”
