The book and literature festival will take place on Sunday November 10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Moïse David room, with the first Lescure Book Meetings. For several years it had been an idea of Élisabeth Claverie, mayor of Lescure and 1st vice-president of the Tarn departmental council. This cultural event is organized by the Les arts lescuriens association under the aegis of the municipality. “We aim to promote culture and literature by making them accessible to as many people as possible. Knowing that in Albi, there was no book fair targeting adults and children, we joined our mayor in his desire to create a literary cultural event in the Albigensian suburbs”, explains Christian Dumay, one of the organizers. 32 authors from Tarn, Aveyron, Tarn-et-Garonne, Haute-Garonne, Ariège and Aude representing all literary genres will dedicate their works. There will be, in particular, the novelists Muriel Batave-Matton, Natalice and Nathalie Paz, the historians Max Assié and Michel Lombard, the novelists René Pagès and Claude Rannou, the thriller authors Christine Carneau and Philippe Gil, the author of Books of youth Sylvie Salamé, the slam poet Pierre Carayon, without forgetting Jean Gasc and the Revue du Tarn whose June issue was devoted to Lescure-d'Albigeois. Writing will also be at the heart of the program with the award ceremony for the first “Short Story Competition” on the theme of dreams, which was a huge success given the number of writings in competition. Catering possible (price €18).
