On November 8, Daniel Mur's latest work, “Le Tarbes forget”, comes out at the cultural space in the city center and at Le Méridien. The author will take the opportunity to hold a signing session the same day from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Espace Leclerc downtown.
Is it necessary to introduce Daniel Mur? For those who don't know him yet, this author is a lover of Tarbes or rather of its history. If you meet him, you will see that he always has some interesting anecdotes about the city. Give it the name of a building, a neighborhood, and it will tell you its whole story. Throughout his Books, he invites the reader into the Tarbes of yesterday. He arrives at Tarbes station and goes for a walk. Today, he arrives with his latest literary baby, “The Forgotten Tarbes”.
“With this book, I wanted to tell an aspect of Tarbes that I had not addressed in my previous books,” explains the writer. “As usual, I leave the station and take the reader to the Tarbes of my childhood. Together, we will come across buildings that have disappeared such as the Saint-Blaise hospital, the Bains-Douche, the Count's Castle, in particular. We will pass through neighborhoods that are now destroyed, such as the Negro neighborhood. And I won't forget to tell some anecdotes about our city, such as the history of public toilets, the Château de Montagnan and its Liberty tree.
As in his previous works, Daniel Mur is the guide to a different Tarbes, making you discover the history of the city as you have never heard it. Eager to share his discoveries, he likes to meet people, especially on November 8 from 3 p.m. at the cultural space in the city center.
