Around twenty authors at the Néris-les-Bains Book Fair, in Allier

Around twenty authors, from Allier and neighboring departments, are attending the second Néris-les-Bains Book Fair, which continues this Sunday, November 3, until 6 p.m., at the Pavillon du Lake.

The second edition of the Néris-les-Bains Book Fair (Allier), which ends this Sunday, November 3 in the evening, is enjoying a certain success. Especially since it is coupled with the Salon des arts, which takes place in the same venue as the Pavillon du Lac.

Biographies, children's , local histories, novels…

Élisabeth Deguy, the organizer of the event, does not hide her satisfaction. “It is part of the calendar of events in the spa town and the public responds. Even if apparently the economic situation does not favor the purchase of works.”

Around twenty stands of authors from Allier of course, but also from neighboring departments, offer works of all kinds. Biographies, youth, local stories, novels… Like those of Maurice Bougerol.

Free writing workshops

Other stands offer free workshops, open to all and devoted to writing and literary work. Among these, we find the stand of Nadège Fromentin, coming from (Cantal). She works as a proofreader for renowned publishers such as Larousse and Flammarion.

It is also thanks to the latter that she can make a living from her work, which is not the case for most of her colleagues. “After training as a proofreader-reviser in 2018, I took courses at the School of Information Professions in . I specialized in fine works by ensuring the preparation of copies and the correction of proofs.”

Promotes meetings

The professional continues: “Correction of a model can take a week, while correction of text requires around two weeks. Beyond my main activity, I work on all texts intended to be distributed as company advertisements.

Nadège Fromentin, who was already present during the first edition of the Salon, particularly appreciates the places, particularly the rotunda. “This round room is very warm and friendly, it encourages meetings and exchanges with the public, but also between stand managers.”
