Montcuq-en-Quercy-Blanc. Concert, reading and exhibition at Livres & Co

The Montcuquoise bookstore Livres & Co is preparing for the month of November with several musical and cultural events. It will all start tomorrow, November 2, at 8 p.m., with a concert by Bootsy Le Cat, a Franco-English trio who takes us into their blues and jazz universe. For the singer, music is a family affair and the biggest English festivals are the playgrounds of her childhood. Seb on guitar has had an international career for 25 years and collaborations with big names on the English scene. Léon is the very eclectic singer, double bassist and charango player of the group Café Crème, who has already accompanied artists such as Sanseverino and Stéphane Fernandes. All three create an intimate bluesy universe mixing their own compositions and covers ranging from Tom Waits to Billie Holiday, including Lhasa de Sela and some lesser known nuggets of the jazz repertoire from the beginning of the last century. Price: €25 for the concert and the soup bar buffet. By reservation at 05 65 24 35 77. Email: [email protected].

Friday, November 15, at 8 p.m., actress Elizabeth Masse will read out loud “I'm no longer worried”, by Scali Delpeyrat. From the story of his grandparents who escaped the Vel d'Hiv raids to the voices recorded in the metro, including a disappointing Christmas present, or the women he failed to love, Scali Delpeyrat , in this uncompromising monologue, is told in complete intimacy. A funny, moving, and delicious text. Price: €15 followed by a Spanish hostel (reservation recommended).

From November 7 to January 12, the bookstore will host the “Scotland” exhibition by photographer Chris Collister, which presents superb black and white photos, poetic and fascinating, taken in Scottish lands. Opening reception on Friday November 8, from 6:30 p.m.

Finally, until November 20, Livres Books & Co is participating in the national solidarity operation “Donnez à lire”. The principle is simple. It involves choosing a children's book from the shelves of the bookstore and buying it so that it can be given to a child who has little or no book. The action is being implemented by the French bookstore union and Secours populaire.
