A book-CD on “The most beautiful traditional songs in Poitou”

The Arcup association (Rural animation and popular culture) in Bocage will publish a book-CD entitled “The most beautiful traditional (and related) songs in Poitou”, published by La Geste.

These 140 pages were written by Jany Rouger and illustrated by Jean-Paul Coudrain, Jean-Mary Court, Jean-Michel Landry, Philippe Roy and Francis Massias, with the participation of Marif Coffineau (sources and references) and Violaine Guérin (transcription of the poitevin-saintongeais).

Also included are 13 traditional songs, in a CD, “ among the most beautiful in our region », Indicates Arcup. The following are cited: “Rossignolet du bois Jolie”, “Under the orange blossom”, “These are two young people”, “La Blanche Biche”, “Barèle at prdu sèïn jhao” and five related songs composed by Jany Rouger.

Concert on November 9th

To mark the official release of this book-CD, a concert will be given on Saturday November 9, at 9 p.m., Salle de la Griotte in Cerizay. Around Jany Rouger (vocals) and Manolo Gonzalez (piano) will join singers and vocalists including a women’s choir under the direction of Anne Koppe and vocal and piano trainees.
