. BOOK. A naturally friendly Pete Fromm at the Maison du livre

The American writer Pete Fromm has a… sympathetic nature. Eager for large wild spaces, he left his Wisconsin for a few weeks for a European trip which brought him to on Thursday evening, where he went to meet Aveyron readers. Before that, on Wednesday, he lingered at the Point-Virgule bookstore in . Which gave him the opportunity to revive an astonishing memory. He reached Rodez via Conques and the Lot valley when suddenly an image came back to him: “I fished there, on the banks of the Lot!”, he laughs. A memory that even made him regret not having taken his cane. However, this is not enough to dampen the good humor of the writer who, Thursday evening, participated with great kindness and sympathy in the meeting prepared by the Maison du livre.

Solitude, family, the relationship with nature, Pete Fromm, accompanied by an interpreter, namely Lucas, son of the publisher Gallmeister, has not avoided any subject, as he seems to appreciate the “French” approach of literature. Not hesitating to accompany everything with a good note of humor.

Next spring, Pete Fromm is expected to publish a new novel. But the writer has deliberately remained discreet on the subject. In the meantime, yesterday he delighted his audience before heading to the banks of the Lot this evening for a “one book, one film” screening at the Rex cinema where the film Jérémiah Johnson will be screened, with the Pont-Virgule bookstore.
