Laure Tiberghien Roy wins the 2024 photography book booksellers’ prize

On Monday October 14, 2024, the jury of this second edition of the 2024 photography book booksellers prize awarded Laure Tiberghien Roy for his work Laura Tiberghien (RVB Books).

Under the presidency of the writer Marie Darrieussecqthe jury, made up of 15 booksellers spread across and Belgium, had the mission of choosing a work from among 27 books published during the year 2023-2024 by the thirty publishing houses that are members of France PhotoBook.

With Laure Tiberghienthe young artist delivers her first monograph. The work is made up of a compilation of prints made in the darkroom, revealing the winner’s years of work and experiments.

The jury of this second edition justifies its choice in these terms: “A committed proposal, a luminous dive, very strong iconographic work on the idea of ​​revelation. We also appreciated the text, which involves careful reading and is integrated with the images, releasing poetry throughout the pages. Mention also the cover, enigmatic, which stimulates the desire to open the book. »

This Monday, October 14, Laure Tiberghien received an endowment of 3,000 euros in addition to her reward. RVB Book, the winner’s publishing house, will also benefit from support for promoting the work in bookstores.

The jury also gave a special mention to the book Simple moments from the photographer Claude Bathodisappeared in 1981.
