Near . A book tells the daily life of caregivers faced with Alzheimer’s disease

“Becoming close to sick, on a personal level, I started writing in 2020.” Annie Stoker, psychologist specializing in neurology and gerontology, has just published Alzheimer’s, caregivers talk to caregivers. A member of the Alzheimer association in for twenty years, she supports caregivers individually or in groups.

“I wanted to testify”

“Caregivers are loved ones, often family, who accompany sick people, here with Alzheimer’s, she explains. They may be dealing with illness themselves, often have difficulty freeing up time and feel guilty when they cannot care for their loved one. We support them by organizing groups that we follow over several sessions. I have wanted to testify for a long time. »

Intended for family caregivers and the professionals who support them, the book traces the evolution of a group of caregivers during ten support sessions.
