The Piedmont Cévennes literary prize was awarded to Redhead, first novel by Denis Infante. Nominated for the prize by the Corconne library, this work won over the jury. This novel features the adventures of a young vixen who sets out to discover a postapocalyptic world where humans have disappeared. His quest, partly driven by thirst, but also by curiosity, makes him meet other inhabitants of the universe.
The ceremony took place in the presence of Hélène Meunier, vice-president of the departmental council, delegate for public reading, Olivier Gaillard, departmental councilor, Fabien Cruveiller, president of the commune of communes of Piedmont Cévennes, Stéphanie Laurent, vice-president delegate for culture, Chloé Velay, responsible for public reading, and many elected officials and volunteers from the region’s libraries. After a word of welcome from Lionel Jean, mayor, his first deputy, Philippe de Tolédo, warmly praised the work of the volunteers of the library and the Mosaîque association and the quality of the work of Denis Infante.
The president, Fabien Cruveiller, presented the prize to the author, in the form of a painting by a Corconnais artist, Michel Magnin. Some lines from the book Redhead were read by one of the volunteers and the author answered a few questions from Fanny Pochet, responsible for Masaîque. Then he signed his book. The evening ended with a reception offered by the municipality.
