This year marks a turning point for the “Libres de Fresnes-sur-Escaut” association, chaired by Nadège Sergent since 2020. On the occasion of its 10e anniversary, the association launches the first edition of its Literary Meetings, an event designed to promote local talentx. With the participation of 21 authors, the scale of the event grew to the point of requiring a change of venue. Initially planned at the media library, the meeting will finally be held in the Jean-Jaurès village hall.located at 102 rue Jean Jaurès in Fresnes-sur-Escaut.
This show, scheduled for October 13, offers a variety of activities for the whole family. In addition to the signing sessions, creative activities and workshops are planned. A space will also be reserved for children, offering activities such as face painting and theater shows. Inclusivity is at the heart of the event, with a Braille writing workshop, designed for people with disabilities.
The association, with a dozen dedicated volunteers, is active throughout the year and regularly offers activities at the media library to promote reading.
