Great success of the new book fair! – The Little Journal

It was at the initiative of Mayor François Codine that a book fair bringing together nearly twenty-five authors was held last weekend at the village hall.

The councilor of Montaigut had proposed to his counterpart of Saint-Paul, Jean-Luc Sillien to integrate a literary event as part of the painting and sculpture exhibition which is held annually at the Fontanilles room.

This is how “Art et Lire en Save” was born with a whole team that was put together to ensure the success of this event. Claude Mallet, deputy mayor of Saint-Paul, Daniel Serra artist, Guy Mothe and Gilles Roux who organized the former Bouconne Forest book fair, as well as members of the Foyer Rural de Montaigut (among others Ms. Garofalo and Ms. Paludetto) mobilized throughout to prepare for this event.

All literary genres were represented (comics, youth, thrillers, local history, fiction, poetry, mangas, romance and novels). While amateurs and professionals of pictorial art exhibited paintings, sculptures and photographs on Saturday and Sunday in Saint-Paul, members of the painting workshop at the rural center presented their works to visitors. of the book fair, which was held on Sunday. This alliance of different arts has made it possible to attract a large audience with varied artistic tastes.

More than two hundred visitors came from many towns in Save and elsewhere to make this event a real success.

A cartoon workshop by Fred Médrano, an illustrator and designer regularly invited to the Angoulême comic strip fair, aroused the enthusiasm of the many children who participated. The Montaigut library as well as the Saint-Paul media library made their contribution to the success of this day with Johanna and Joëlle who offered a reading of stories associated with a translation into sign language. Spectators of all ages appreciated this association which allows diverse people to attend the same performance together.

There is no doubt that “Art et Lire en Save” will develop and take a remarkable place in the cultural agenda of the region. We take up François Codine’s conclusion: “See you next year!”
