At the 10th Baku International Book Fair, the presentation ceremony of the books “The Day of Murder” (Youssif Samadoglou), “Five Minutes and Eternity” (Etlchin) and “The Second Life of a Legend” took place. (Elvira Arasli), published in Russia within the framework of joint cooperation between the Azerbaijan State Translation Center and the Russian Translation Institute.
Opening the ceremony, the coordinator of the Center for Literary Relations with Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, Pusté Akhundova, spoke about the close cooperation between the Translation Center and the Russian Translation Institute, as well as projects carried out last year as part of literary exchanges between Russia and Azerbaijan, we learned from the Center.
Director of the Russian Institute of Translation, famous poet Yevgeny Reznichenko highly appreciated the activity of the Center, which made a significant contribution to the promotion of Russian literature in Azerbaijan, as well as Azerbaijani literature in Russia and spoke of the importance of continuing this mutually productive cooperation.
Then, writer-translator Etimad Bashketchid, poet-translators Mahir Garayev and Imir Mammadli, Doctor of Letters, Professor Telman Djafarov and others shared their views on current affairs and artistic values of the included works in books published in Russia.
Nuchabé Vekilova, the wife of the People’s Poet Vaguif Samadoglou, and Houmaï Vekilova, the daughter of the People’s Poet Youssif Samadoglou, who participated in the event, thanked, on behalf of their families, the Institute of Translation of Russia and the Translation Center for prepared books.
