This year, the association “The book, an adventure” is organizing Lalbenquein the Lot, its first book festival of Friday October 11 to Sunday October 13, 2024.

Echoing Pink October, women will be highlightedduring an opening evening entitled “A fleurs d’elles” and during the writers’ salon, which is in its 3rde edition.

Women’s voices in Lalbenque

Friday October 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lalbenque town hall: opening evening “A fleurs d’Elles”. A moment of sharing between music and poetry. This evening will resonate with “women’s voices”, heroines or muses, with the participation of the “Let’s Play with Words” writing workshop and readings of authors’ texts around “Woman in all her facets, in all his states of mind.


Magali Dubreuil Bourguet, guest of honor at the writers’ salon, will discuss her literary journey and offer the reading of extracts from her novels. This opening evening will be followed by a friendly drink.

Saturday October 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lalbenque village hall: the writers’ lounge will allow book signings with around thirty authors of local, feel good, historical, detective, youth novels, etc.

This year, the festival’s guest of honor, Magali Dubreuil Bourguet, whose best-seller “Because to die you have to be alive” has sold several thousand copies and translated into several languages, will come and present her all to us. latest novel, “I write so that you listen to me”, an inspiring novel, written this summer, immersed on the way to Compostela.

Pivot Dictation

Sunday October 13 at 3 p.m. at the Lalbenque village hall, in homage to Bernard Pivot, the association will offer lovers of the French language the opportunity to participate in the famous and no less timeless “Pivot Dictation”. Come test your spelling. The dictation will be followed by a correction explained live.

This intergenerational moment will close a first book festival rich in beautiful encounters and whose strong theme will resonate in us like the words of a song by Grand Corps Malade “as a tribute to this people that we admire, to these courageous women , who in the cinema, in life or in a novel, are and will remain the most beautiful characters. »
