Energy Observer: the book coming soon

On October 24, Gallimard will publish a book on the epic of the hydrogen catamaran. It is entitled “Journey to the Heart of Energy Issues”.

The Energy Observer world tour was an extraordinary adventure and it will be told through a book, published by Gallimard. Available for pre-order, the book was written by Gilles Luneau, a specialist author. It should be noted that one of the IPCC experts, Jean Jouzel, wrote the preface.

“This is the story of a legendary sailboat, Enza New Zealand, which is transformed into an experimental vessel, Energy Observer, a true research and innovation platform operating thanks to a renewable energy mix. Photovoltaic, wind, hydroelectric, hydrogen extracted from seawater: this unique catamaran in the world draws its energy from the sun, the wind and the ocean.” This is how the ship is presented, in the introduction.

Energy Observer has completed a seven-year odyssey around the world, totaling 68,000 nautical miles. At each of their 101 stops, in around fifty countries, Victorien Erussard and his entire team – sailors, engineers, scientists, journalists – went to meet pioneers of the energy transition.

In the form of a logbook, illustrated with spectacular photographs*, this book is the story of a human and technological adventure, an overview of global energy challenges, but also, and above all, a unique testimony that allows us to measure that another future for the planet is possible. We can’t wait to read it.

*Victorien Erussard told us that the hardest part was sorting. The team took 50,000 photos.
