A dedication under high tension

The event was held on a barge, where the two authors, Dora Moutot and Marguerite Stern, hosted a signing session for their work Transmania, which denounces what they describe as “the excesses of transgender ideology”. Their book, which investigates how the transgender movement has become ubiquitous in media, businesses, and even schools, tackles sensitive subjects. “ What we call transmania is this kind of frenzy around the trans phenomenon », Declared Marguerite Stern on Europe 1 last April.

According to them, the transgender movement is partly financed by powerful international groups. Dora Moutot recently explained that a philanthropic group, LGBT Thunder, would have injected $36 million into the United States in 2021 to advance “transgender” demands. According to the authors, this money crosses the Atlantic via certain European NGOs, including Transgender Europe.

Anti-fascist activists came to fight

Tensions have continued to grow around the book and the authors’ strong positions since its publication. On Saturday October 5, a group of 64 individuals from the anti-fascist movement was arrested before being able to disrupt the dedication. Equipped with protective masks, telescopic batons and even explosives, they planned to attack the perpetrators and the event.

Dora Moutot reacted to these arrests, declaring to Europe 1: “ I’m shocked to see that there are people who think we deserve to be beaten with a truncheon for writing a controversial book. This is not reassuring for our safety. » Since the publication of Transmania, both perpetrators face a campaign of harassment, death threats and attacks. « For four years we have been constantly harassed, threatened with death and rape. We have already been attacked several times in the street “, she added.

A worrying escalation of violence

The comments of Moutot and Stern, who assert that the book simply aims to “ask questions” about the effects of transgender ideology, have inflamed debates in . The book, which denounces external influences and money injected into the promotion of transgenderism, has provoked extreme reactions, particularly in anti-fascist activist circles, who see Transmania as an attack on the rights of trans people.

The Paris prosecutor confirmed that the 64 individuals arrested were placed in police custody for “participation in an armed group” and “possession of weapons and explosives”. These facts highlight an ever-increasing radicalization within the anti-fascist movement, ready to take action against the police or all their political opponents.
