She takes her readers alongside endearing characters through different cinematic landscapes. “Songlight” is a dystopian novel that depicts a violent world at war.
The resulting suffering only strengthens our feelings towards Alouette and Nightingale. They are both strong, but differently. Alouette is passionate where Rossignol is full of compassion. Swan, on the other hand, is a more complex and darker character, who was shaped by Kite and bent to him in order to survive.
Through the intersecting destinies of her characters, Moira Buffini brilliantly addresses the complexity of human relationships.

“17 Years Forever” by Gaël Aymon is a historical-fantastic novel, which is teeming with well-documented historical elements.
Marthe has stopped aging: at the beginning of the story, she is a teenager, but then… she is an adult stuck in an adolescent’s body, who questions the (eternal) life in which she is trapped. She is forced to watch the people around her – and humanity in general – fade away.
“17 Years Forever” is a poignant read with a gallery of very human and complex characters.

Marie Niehoff’s writing is fluid, and readers will feel (perhaps even a little too much?) Florence’s doubts and desires.
The first fantasy from Comet editions is therefore a romantasy, and it must be said: it’s a good pick! Without being particularly original in its storyline, the novel is effective and a real page-turner. A first volume that can be devoured without delay… and without moderation!
