On October 5 and 6, the 29th Book Festival will be held on the theme “gluttony”. Two days of madness and pleasure with twenty-five authors, a show, three exhibitions, reading performances, activities, workshops, signings and great encounters.

Jan Von Holleben, German photographer, signs this year’s festival poster. It’s rare to have a photographer as guest of honor at the festival. It’s also rare to find photographs in children’s books and it’s even rarer for them to be as fantastic as in this artist. Multi-awarded internationally for his editorial contributions or his children’s books. Discover the “Gourmande” exhibition at the Gaillac photography center. The magical photographs, full of humor and naive poetry, question and touch us.
To open the festival, Bernard Friot invites us to discover his album Balade en fromagegie while tasting a gourmet plate of cheeses and wine. From its history to its manufacturing secrets, from its economy to its literary use, this work devoted to cheese alternates documentary information, humorous words, fun activities, cooking recipes, poetry, riddles and interviews in the form of a comic strip. Friday October 4 at 8 p.m.

Mammoth thunder, illustrated live

Go on an adventure with Moutt and Kanda, the two disobedient mammoths, but also a sinister sabre-toothed tiger… Véronique Delamarre and Pascale Perrier, with their talent as authors and storytellers, immerse you in their prehistoric universe at the both funny and fascinating. They offer you the opportunity to read a unique adventure in the world of the graphic novel Tonnerre de Mammouth, illustrated live by Bastien Quignon. Thrills and laughter guaranteed. Saturday at 6 p.m.
Many workshops and activities are planned, such as The big parent-child quiz under the leadership of Rémi Chaurand. Everyone knows him or at least almost everyone. Rémi solves all the children’s problems. To the editorial staff of Merci Rémi! We have just learned that some parents think they are smarter than their children. In this show in the form of a podcast, the Merci Rémi! will try to prove the opposite, by going on stage… Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

Saturday October 5, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Sunday October 6, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Salle de Spectacles, Gaillac. FREE ENTRANCE.
