BAGNOLS/CÈZE A book fair to defend human rights

A Book Fair will be held on October 5 and 6 at the multicultural room in Bagnols-sur-Cèze. A solidarity and cultural initiative initiated by the NGO Amnesty International, to protect vulnerable people.

The local Amnesty International group is organizing its Book Fair on October 5 and 6, in Bagnols-sur-Cèze in the multicultural room. Each year, this event allows a family audience to acquire books at a very low cost, just as it allows people in danger (of death or in prison) to be supported due to non-respect of fundamental rights by their government or state.

“We defend human rights”

An agency of the NGO is based in Bagnols and is counting on these two days of cultural event to make reading more accessible while succeeding in their missions. “We have been around for 40 years. We defend human rights. The goal of this book fair is to raise money and make our group known. We chose Bagnols-sur-Cèze because it is a central town in the department and it was easier for people to come. An Amnesty stand will be set up to present the NGO”list Mauricette and Alain Hanssens.

1,500 books sold last year

Book lovers will find what they are looking for among the 6,000 books in their collection: children’s books, detective novels and even historical novels, all in good condition. For those who want to contribute to this movement, book drop-offs are possible on Friday October 4 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the multicultural room.

Come browse the books and find a rare gem to read in the fall season Saturday October 5 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and/or Sunday October 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry for visitors is free.
