Haut-Chablais. The children’s book festival to meet children

The children’s book festival is organized each year by the Maison des Arts du Léman, in partnership with three bookstores and around fifteen libraries in the region. This event, which has taken place every fall since 2018, is part of the P’tits Malins festival, a cultural event offering a program of shows and workshops throughout Chablais with around fifteen children’s author-illustrators.

The Haut-Chablais public reading service is part of the pilot group in charge of this book festival and is taking the opportunity to make it a highlight of the cultural action of the Haut-Chablais library network. On the program: library activities, interventions in schools (in partnership with teaching teams) and meeting workshops with author-illustrators (in partnership with local associations).

This year, and until October 15, ten classes in Haut-Chablais will benefit from workshops offered by the public reading service, offered by the associations Aulps aRts eXplorers and Et Patati Et Patata. This year, it is around the work of Anne Herbauts (festival guest) that students will be able to create a collective work and wander through the poetic universe of this author-illustrator’s albums.

Collective work

This Thursday, September 3 afternoon, it was the students of the Saint-Jean-d’Aulps school who welcomed Laure Hurstel from the Et Patati Et Patata association for this collective work around the work of Anne Herbauts , Belgian author who has published around fifty books, mainly albums for young people.

But this same type of activity is also scheduled in the libraries of Haut-Chablais: this will be the case at the La Baume library on Monday October 7 at 5 p.m. and at the Biot library on Wednesday October 9 at 10:30 a.m. with readings. animated books from the book festival.

Finally, star guest of the book festival, Susie Morgenstern will be at the Saint-Jean-d’Aulps college to meet the 6th grade students.e on Thursday October 17.
