For her debut in adult literature, Witherspoon chose a particularly prominent teacher, in the person of Harlan Coben. The author of best-sellers (In your footstepsrecently translated by Roxane Azimi, Pocket) accompanied him throughout the writing of a story where suspense will be omnipresent, according to the publisher of the text, Grand Central, a subsidiary of the Hachette group.

For the moment, the title of the book is not known, but the work should be finalized by fall 2025.
This is not the first book by Witherspoon, who published Whiskey in a teacup — Recipes and legacy of a southern lady a few months ago. The title was translated in France by Eloïse Lecartier, and published by Hachette Pratique. 387 copies have been sold to date (Edistat figure).

With a strong business sense, the actress and producer, via her company Hello Sunshine, has sometimes produced the audiovisual adaptation books that she herself had recommended a few months earlier.
