Book: “Devictimization” or the path to resilience for victims of domestic violence

Very committed to the fight for women’s rights and their empowerment, the founding president of the non-governmental organization (NGO) “Aurore”, Ida Flore Maroundou, has just committed, following her poignant work entitled “family violence and marital relationships, the God of all possibilities” published by Saint Honoré in , an essay whose title is “Devictimization”.

This new literary production published by Symphonia in Libreville was presented by the author to the public last Saturday at the National Museum. Composed of 87 pages, “Devictimization” returns to the theme of domestic violence. For the author, this work will help victims of violence and the various actors in the fight against this scourge, which continues to grow in our society, to better understand the situation of victims and how to support them in the process. of resilience.

Through the form of the work, essentially divided into two parts, Ida Flore Maroundou has chosen a fairly clear and simple path in order to place the victims of violence themselves at the heart of their reconstruction. To this end the author recalls that she would like ” through this book push people to have resilient behavior, and to tell themselves that everything is possible. Because what happened to me does not define who I am, and I have the power to choose the person I want to become “.

“Devictimization” will therefore help, on the one hand, victims to put a name to the types of violence they suffer at the same time as it gives them the keys not only to get out of it but also and above all the means to get back on their feet. in hand.
