Two books to create with your hands

This Wednesday, we’re working our ten fingers. The little ones will learn to draw with next to nothing thanks to “The hand that draws” while their elders will do crafts with “Wednesdays in the rain”.

The hand that draws

De Hervé Tullet
Editions Bayard Jeunesse

In this album, Hervé Tullet takes little ones by the hand, literally, and invites them to place their fingers on the book to trace lines, connect dots, do tasks or any kind of doodles (with imaginary paint of course ).

This book is very fun. It shows children that you can draw with next to nothing, and above all, it allows them to get to grips with the book object by getting into the habit of touching the books as they read through the pages…
From 2 years old.

Hervé Tullet has written more than 80 books and works a lot around shapes and colors. The illustrations are often very simple and awaken all the senses. Some are intended for children aged 6 months and older.

Wednesdays in the rain: 52 activities to create and have fun all year round

By Maéva Gruaz
Editions Albin Michel

This book is a gold mine when looking for activities to do with children.
Maéva Gruaz offers lots of little crafts to make throughout the seasons, often using recycled materials (small treasures found in the garden or in the park, for example).
A mobile on the theme of autumn, a little snail made from a pine cone, paper pumpkins for Halloween, a gift to give to the mistress at the end of the year…

All these activities are always very easy to carry out, each step is illustrated in photos and depending on the age of the children, they can create independently.
This book is like the essential first aid kit to take out in case of a rainy Wednesday.
For children from 3 to 11 years old.

Lots of ideas are available on the Wednesdays in the Rain Instagram account.
