More than 50 authors expected at the Villers-sur-Mer book fair

For his 10e anniversary, the Villers-sur-Mer book fair will not disappoint its visitors who appreciate its conviviality, the easy exchanges with the authors and the different reflections and exchanges held around the workshops.

More than fifty authors will be present to interact with their readers and sign their books. Although general, the book fair this year pays homage to the 80e anniversary of the Landing. On the Villare esplanade, visitors will be welcomed by four “books for two” from the “Reading the Landing” exhibition which took place in the spring and this summer in Arromanches.

Saturday’s round table, moderated by Cécile Chabaud and Loris Chavanette, will focus on “heroism during the Second World War”. “There will also be reading workshops for children on Saturday and for adults on Sunday, the prize giving of the short story competition and the reading of the victorious short story on Sunday afternoon”explain Space managers. And then, source of inexhaustible reflections, “the debate on the influence of our childhood heroes on male/female relationships”, with journalist and author Chloé Thibault.

Open to children aged 8 and over, escape game sessions will take place on Sunday with a wizard theme. “Come discover or rediscover some famous heroic wizards”, insists Aurore Peeters, the mistress of ceremonies who will give a dramatized reading before confronting the participants with her magical enigmas (only recommendation: register on site and be on time)

We must not forget the dictation which will take place at the Villers school from 9 a.m. on Sunday morning. There were many candidates last year. “ This year saw the death of Bernard Pivot. We pay homage to him in our own way by using one of his dictations. Register on site at Villare or at the tourist office and arrive before time”, insist the organizers.
