Second Lannion book fair this weekend: around fifty guests

The second book fair Lannion will be held on Saturday September 28 at the Salle des Ursulines in Lannion. Change of location and date this year. On the program, “ is universe”, enough to evoke travel and all continents with the guest of honor and great traveler Jean-Luc Coatalem.

At the origin of the event, a group of enthusiasts of Breton literature and local writers brought together under the banner The Red Dragon.

Around fifty authors and publishers

For this second edition, the association confirms the presence ofaround fifty authors and publishers.

“We also wanted to create an animation with filmed interviews with certain authors in collaboration with TV Trégor.”

Another theme developed for this edition, and its writers : hence the presence of Jean-Luc Coatalem as guest of honor.

Author of numerous novels and originally from Brest, he followed his military father’s numerous trips, which gave him a taste for travel. Jean-Luc Coatalem was also a journalist and senior reporter as well as co-director of the magazine Geo. For his works and his reports he traveled extensively. He is the author of nearly 25 works and received numerous distinctions including the French language prize, the Femina essay prize, and was a finalist for Goncourt and Renaudot.

Brest and its writers

He will speak in particular on Saturday during a round table on “Brest and its writers” with Louis Grall and Marie-Hélène Prouteau.

The writers will be present on the stands of publishers or booksellers. The organizers also have some favorites like the promising young novelist from Brest Tiphaine Le Gall, author of The Girl by the Fire, or Marie-Hélène Prouteau for the reissue of her novel The Little Beach with, this time a preface by Mona Ozouf.

The program for this second edition is dense. In addition to the various stands offered in the Ursulines room, activities will also be offered:

Friday 27: The poet Louis Bertholom will give a recital at the Mutante at the Trorozec manor at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday 28 : at 9:30 a.m., opening of the show.

10 a.m.: Emmanuelle George from the Gwalarn bookstore will present the new releases for the literary season at the media library.

10 a.m., Salle des Ursulines, filmed interview with Louis Grall, to discuss his new novel, The Little Brother.

10:25 a.m.: Patrice Baron, associate professor of ancient Greek, will present his novel Fragments of memory and forgetting.

10:30 a.m.: Tales in Breton for primary school children by the Botmeur troupe.

10:45 a.m.: Daniel Kay, poet from the Gallimard white collection for his two new books: The Parrot by Blaise Pascal et Heroic lives.

11:10 a.m.: Ramine, painter, writer and storyteller will take his stories around the world.

11:35 a.m.: Dominique Besançon, specialist in Anatole Le Braz, will present his latest book Fantastic Brittany.

12 p.m.: Writer Fabienne Juhel.

2 p.m.: Round table on the theme “Brest and its writers”.

3 p.m.: round table moderated by Marie-Hélène Prouteau with Chantal Couliou and Clara Régy.

3 p.m.: Tribute to Kenneth White preceded by the screening of the program that Bernard Pivot dedicated to him.

4 p.m.: Carte blanche to Jean-Luc Coatalem.

5:15 p.m.: Illustrated reading of a text by Anatole Le Braz by Soazig Amouret and the designer Blÿnt with projection on a large screen.

Painters are also expected and will exhibit all day in the room:

Jeannick Le Voyer-Le Guillouzer, Johan Houdart, Anne-Gaëlle Beau, Thierry Le Baler, Yves Amouret, Christophe Le Baquer, Armel Le Sec’h, Jean-Pierre Subié, Ramine / Blÿnt, Marie-Claude Leroux.
