The Nazairian firefighter dedicates his confession book about his job at Cultura, in Trignac

Matthieu Josse, professional firefighter in Saint-Nazaire, author of Save without perishing (Ed. Bateau ver et blanc) meets its readers at Cultura, Grand large commercial zone in Trignac, this Saturday, September 28, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

In a confession book (West of Tuesday August 27), the forty-year-old testifies to the post-traumatic syndrome from which he suffered when the memory of an intervention with two seriously electrocuted teenagers in Montoir-de-Bretagne came to the surface.

That day, far from the heroic image of the rescuer that is projected onto firefighters, this father of two felt the distress of powerlessness to relieve suffering. His book “ introspective » questions the role of the pain-permeable rescuer and the management of the trauma of firefighters, confronted by their profession with a strong emotional burden.

The book, very well received since its release at the beginning of September, is in its second edition, enriched with a preface by doctor Colonel Michel Weber, president of the National Association of Doctors of Fire and Rescue Services.
