Books and culture in detention, a meeting

As part of its regional Culture-Reading-Justice mission, in partnership with the Regional Directorate of Cultural Affairs (Ministry of Culture), the Interregional Directorate of Prison Services (Ministry of Justice), the Théâtre de , the Ligue de l’enseignement du Morbihan, Livre et lecture en Bretagne is organizing a professional day for actors and actresses from the cultural and prison worlds.

Culture allows people placed under the control of justice and the prison administration to maintain an essential link with the outside world. Used as a tool for integration and reintegration into society, culture is therefore a crucial link in the prison journey.

What are the motivations for intervening with people placed under the supervision of the justice system when you are an artist? And what repercussions have this had on their artistic practices? During this meeting, the cultural actors present will share their testimonies.
