The Grand Est gendarmes arrested 37 people, including four in Moselle, accused of having distributed or downloaded child pornography content.
In total, more than a million images and videos were seized by investigators, according to the law enforcement press release. 60 computers, 290 storage media, 27 mobile phones, 8 tablets and 4 cameras were also confiscated. The authorities also discovered weapons and narcotics four times during the various arrests.
This vast operation, led in particular by the Metz research section, began on November 19 throughout the Grand Est region, note France Blue Lorraine North. The investigation was carried out by more than 300 gendarmes specializing in digital crime. An identical operation had already been carried out in March 2023. It resulted in the arrest of 17 people.
