Joining the Book on the Square jury… It’s possible with the Stan Network! Le Livre sur la Place and the Stan network are launching the Stan network Metropolitan Prize. It will reward a French-speaking novel from the winter literary season (January 2025) which will have travel as its theme, in its broadest sense. The winner will be chosen from a selection of 5 books by a jury of 10 readers, who will be users or employees of the Stan network.
How to become a member of the jury?
To become a member of the jury, simply apply on the Stan network website, right here. Please note, the registration deadline is January 31. In your application, you must obviously express your interest in reading, give your tastes, and argue. You must commit to reading the five books in the selection, attend reading clubs in Nancy, discuss your readings with other members of the jury and participate in the final deliberation to elect the winner at the 2025 Book Fair on the Place . This Metropolitan Prize is a public prize: it is a first not only for transport in the Nancy metropolitan area but also for the Book on the Place. The major cultural event will return in 2025 for its 47th edition, from September 12 to 14. Under the marquee on Place Carrière or in the various places dedicated to conferences and meetings between authors and readers, it is certain that the Book on the Place will attract tens of thousands of visitors, as it does every year.
The author elected by the jury will receive a check for €1,500 for the Metropolitan Prize. The novel will also be made available to travelers on the Stan network, thanks to a purchase worth €1,500 from the Lire à Nancy booksellers' association, said the Métropole du Grand Nancy in a press release.
