Saturday and Sunday, the multipurpose room was transformed into a huge book fair for the 9e edition proposed by the association Une enfant au Pérou. We were able to count on the help of more than 30 volunteers, plus parents of students to prepare everything
explains Jean-Pierre Fradot, president of the association.
A more than useful help, since there are no less than 330 banana boxes”,
smiles a volunteer, almost 30,000 books, which were offered for sale.
On Saturday, 600 kg of books found a buyer, with very good attendance. The crowds were calmer on Sunday but sales were still there. Enough to satisfy readers and volunteers alike, since the money raised will help finance the education of children in a slum north of Lima (Peru) and for occasional assistance in the medical field, or even for everyday life from an orphanage located in Peru’s second largest city, Arequipa.
The association will once again be present at the markets offered at the abbey of Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer, as well as at the wheat festival in Pleudihen, this summer.
