LA TRIBUNE – ION-X arrives in a market already very busy with many companies, startups and SMEs but also large groups like Safran. How do you stand out from them?
Thomas Hiriart :
Our technology is based on ionic propulsion which brings together many advantages. The first lies in its compactness, that is to say the capacity to miniaturize the propellant for satellites weighing between 10 and 150 kilos. The second major point is its effectiveness. Today we meet the needs of a 50 kilo satellite over a lifespan of several years, with only a few hundred milliliters of fuel. The third advantage comes from the fuel itself: it is an ionic liquid, it is a soluble salt produced in , and non-toxic. And finally, we are able to deliver our engine with implementation times and production costs compatible with the needs of small constellations. All these characteristics make our technology truly different from what exists on the market and meets customer needs.
