Which Books will mark the Christmas season? This is the question that Gleeph, an essential application for reading lovers, tried to answer using data from Bookmétrie, their market analysis tool. Based on a panel of 836,385 readers, Gleeph identified the titles most frequently mentioned in users' wish lists since the beginning of December, and the trends of the month.
Best-selling titles
Without much surprise, The Arab of the future, Me, Fadi the stolen brother. Vol 1. 1986-1994 of Riad Sattouf(Books of the Future) dominates the top comics, with more than 200,000 copies sold according to GFK. As for general literature novels, Marc Levyanother heavyweight of the best annual sales, climbs to first position with The library of banned books (Robert Laffont), which deals with issues of censorship surrounding works. We also find in second position Madelaine before dawn of Sandrine Collette (Lattès), Goncourt Prize for High School Students and Prisoners 2024.
A real phenomenon on social networks since its release in pocket version, Ashes falling for the sky of Nine Gorman et Mathieu Guibé continues its momentum by dominating the top youth charts with nearly 65,000 copies sold. Imaginary side, the work of science fiction The Valley of Carnage of Romain Lucazeau (Verso) leads the dance.
