In fifty years of career, the American photographer Jonathan Becker has visited society in all latitudes, those of cinema and fashion, politics and wild parties. He was 26 when the magazine Vanity Fair has relaunched himself, embarking on the adventure with his lively, complicit, instinctive look, which intensely animates the moment.
The first monograph of his work has just been published by Phaidon under the title Lost Timetestimony in 200 photos of a blessed and vanished era. While passing through France, he signed his book with Ophélie Renouard, the organizer of the Bal des debutantes, an event to which he has been faithful since 2000, the year in which he followed the first steps in Paris of the young Lauren Bush for the Vogue US.
