Until March 2019, nothing suggested that Julie Lamarre, mother of five children, who works as a self-employed pediatric physiotherapist and student supervisor at Collège Bourget in Rigaud, would add another string to her professional bow, or that of a writer. Since that day, she has three books to her credit and continues writing her recent saga Audacious Passion.

« French is not a subject that my sons Liam and Evan particularly liked when they were younger. Being dysorthographic, writing proved difficult for them and so I wanted to show them that you could write just for pleasure, without obligation. So I had my two oldest Liam and Dylan read the 2,000 words that I had typed in 45-60 minutes, then seeing that they asked me for the rest, and that the beginning of the story captured their attention , I simply continued in the evening. I wrote for two months, then stopped for lack of time. And… the pandemic arrived! Being stuck like everyone else at home, while needing to escape from time to time from the frenzy of having to homeschool five children of different levels, I reopened my computer and started there again where I stopped. Since then, I have never stopped! “, she says.

Writing his first novel “The Blood Tie” was completed in July 2020, after more or less six months of writing. However, it wasn’t until May 2021, after friends and family encouraged her to post it, that she took the plunge.

The publication of volume 1 The blood bond took place on December 10, 2021. At the same time, volume 2 The connection of the heartfollowed closely and was released to the general public in May 2022. Here is the synopsis of this series which places the family at the center of the plot:

Eva Williams was just eleven years old when she tragically lost her family. Before passing away, his mother gives him a pendant that has belonged to her family for several centuries and makes him promise never to part with it, unless she is ready to give her life in exchange. Understanding nothing about it, she accepts anyway but ends up forgetting it, until the day she receives a package which leads her to make a discovery about her maternal family. In the meantime, she is adopted by the Elwoods who adore her like their own daughter and offer her a second chance. She will meet Clara, an extroverted young girl, as well as the Kingsley brothers who will compete for her attention. She will end up falling madly in love with one of them but will also lose a part of herself when an unexpected obstacle arises in front of her, forcing her to leave, again, everyone she loves and , at the same time, its security. How many times will she have to learn to trust again? And what will her options be when the person she’s trying to avoid finds her and rekindles a flame she thought was extinguished? One thing is certain, she will have to fight so as not to lose her only reason for living… perhaps even to the point of giving up her freedom.

After bringing this series to an end, a new idea emerged in her mind and she began her third novel “ Audacious Passion » which was published in August 2023, which is the first in a series of four volumes. In this one, she once again delivers suspense, romance, drama, action and some occasional darker elements.

Julie Lamarre is a native of Montreal, but a resident of Rigaud. She completed a year in sports medicine in 1999 at Concordia University and continued her studies at McGill University where she completed a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy in 2003.

She worked with pediatric clients with neurodevelopmental problems for ten years in a rehabilitation center, then opened a private clinic in 2013 specializing in clients aged 0-5 years. Despite her passion for pediatric physiotherapy, she had to close it for medical reasons in 2023.

A mother of five children, she has also always been present in the schools they attended and she joined the Collège Bourget team in 2019, where she supports the students as a student supervisor.
