Larousse Jeunesse editions have published Un Futur pour Elles, a world tour of girls' rights with the NGO Plan International France.
A FUTURE FOR THEM – This book was written by the NGO Plan International France which fights to ensure that girls' rights are respected. It is illustrated by Adolie Day. In the form of a fantastic tale told by the cat Keziah, the book introduces us to girls who live on different continents and each will share the right that seems important to them to protect. Thanks to the wish box, the cat meets teenage girls and each girl recounts her personal situation in her family and her country and sets out a fundamental right that should be respected everywhere in the world. For example, Ayo, in Benin, would like all girls to have the right to go to school, even though she has to walk several hours a day to fetch water. Yasmine, in Egypt, would like the right to choose her career in the future while her parents refuse to allow her to follow scientific studies to become an engineer. Right to dispose of one's body, right to education, protection against harassment, freedom of expression, … each shares a right that they want to defend so that girls finally enjoy equal rights.
A gift to give to all girls to create an egalitarian future in the world.
