Feminist literature is in the spotlight in the 32 libraries affiliated with the Réseau Biblio Côte-Nord. The organization has acquired more than 280 books on the subject, thanks to a partnership with the Regroupement des Femmes de la Côte-Nord.
North-coastal libraries thus become places of reference and awareness regarding the cause, condition, history and reality of women.
Last April, the Biblio Network was contacted by the Regroupement des Femmes de la Côte-Nord in order to develop a project, within the framework of the Sectoral Development Agreement on equality between women and men on the Côte-Nord. North 2022-2024. “The Network team took the opportunity to highlight feminist literature and promote it in its member libraries. We have therefore enriched our regional collection with more than 280 books. These works are now found everywhere in the network,” explains general director Marie-Soleil Vigneault.
The books in the Feminist Literature collection deal with different issues, such as health, personal growth, equality, parity, living conditions, security, the economy, politics, violence, mental load, work-family balance, discrimination, the #metoo movement and social pressure.
Biblio serves municipalities on the North Shore with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants. The network has 32 members from Sacré-Cœur in Blanc-Sablon.
