“A very nice success”the word seems weak. The Montreuil Book and Youth Press Fair (Seine-Saint-Denis) broke its attendance record during its 40th edition, with “nearly 198,000 visitors” between November 27 and December 2, according to a press release published Monday December 2.

The organizers point out that access to the show was free for everyone this year, not just for minors, which “without a doubt (…) opened wide the doors of this event”. The 2023 edition of the show had already broken its previous record, with 193,000 visitors.

Like every year, the juries of children and adolescents and a jury of professionals chose their Nuggets and the Golden Nugget from the rich production of children's literature. The author Marie Boisson received the Golden Nugget with Bianca and the Forest of Lost Parents. The main award, the Big Dipper, was awarded to American author Susie Morgenstern for all of her work.
