On Friday July 5, the Divergences bookstore welcomed the poet and writer Bruno Geneste for a signing session of his latest book, The Wind According to Bob Dylan »The artistic director of the festival de la Parole poétique, author of more than sixty books, decided to look at the songs of this icon of folk music, at the origin of songs like Blowin’in the Wind or of Like a Rolling Stone.

A fan of Bob Dylan since childhood, when he decided to write about this singer who “transcends codes”, Bruno Geneste is looking for an angle. “I didn’t want to write yet another uninteresting biography,” he says. “I try to be demanding. Every time I write a book, I take unexplored themes. I tried to make a book that captures Dylan’s breath and all the paths he explores.”

In the year it took him to write his book, Bruno Geneste sought to ” to go beyond “ song lyrics. “It’s quite a complex job. People who listen to a Dylan song don’t see everything that’s behind it. When you discover it, it’s quite incredible,” smiled the writer.

“More than a singer”, Bob Dylan is “truly a poet”, assures Bruno Geneste. “In his songs, everything is said but he does not enter into activism. He is really someone extremely deep and stable,” he analyzes. “There is something extremely powerful in these works.”
