Tuesday November 26, 2024, at the Loudun media library, Frédéric Mignon, vice-president of the CCPL (community of communes of Pays Loudunais) and Elisa Dersoir, surrounded by her team of media library facilitators, presented the main points of this what will be the next children's book festival, which will be held from May 14 to 17, 2025, before announcing the activities planned for class teachers participants.
Meetings and workshops for 800 students
Thirteen classes will participate in the Prix Renaudot des benjamins, the flagship event of this festival. They will have to choose between Gargoyles vs. Ninjas by Cyril Jégou, Monsters from beyond the earthde David Moitet, Natural stories: the land of sandby Xavier-Laurent Petit and Monosourcil by Delphine Valette. These four authors will be among the guests of the festival and will meet the 280 students of the prize jury.
The works will be highlighted by the company Blast, as part of the “Growing up to read” project. Five classes will work, with the company, on the theatrical reading of extracts from these works.
In all, 34 classes, or 800 students, will combine the pleasure of reading and the discovery of children's literature.
An exhibition of works by authors and children
Maria Jalibert, author-illustrator, Clément Lefèvre, author-illustrator, and Carbone, comic book author, will also be among the guests who will meet students from kindergarten to CE2, all over Loudunais, in public and in private.
-They will hang their works in Sainte-Croix, alongside those of the children, from May 10 to June 8, for an exhibition entitled Who wants to play?. It will be enriched by children's works during “festival capsules”, workshops carried out with the complicity of the three authors.
There will be “Bric à brac”, made from creations based on recycled objects, in the style of Maria Jalibert, creations in augmented reality, in the style of Clément Lefèvre, and escape bags, designed with Carbone. Among the activities, we can also mention “Les decors à histoire”, with the artist Carole Lunel, inserted in an album, or the creation of a show, for kindergarteners, during a residency of the Sans-lacets company , a show which will be given during the festival.
« Convinced that reading is an essential gateway to culture, for everyone's development, the CCPL, the media library and the local libraries wanted to increase the opportunities for meetings between books, creators and the public. », indicated Elisa Dersoir and Frédéric Mignon, wishing good reading to the students of the 34 participating classes.
