This Tuesday, November 26, around twenty job seekers were welcomed at the Alain-Gérard media library, in , as part of an action entitled “Discovery of book professions”, initiated by the Employment Group of the Maison des services public of Penhars. The aim was to introduce these people with very diverse profiles to the many book professions. Among them, we noted the presence of Elouan, 20 years old, without a diploma but passionate about comics and illustrated or that of Anne-Laure, 59 years old, former radio journalist in for 20 years who is now looking for a permanent contract. Students were also present like Emma, ​​22 years old, with a master's degree in communications, looking for her first job and interested in literary communication.

A round table with professionals

All morning, the group guided by François, librarian, was able to discover the realities of the book professions with discussions on the different functions exercised within the structure (librarian, binder and restorer of old books or administrative employment), as well as on recruitment conditions in a community like the media library. The afternoon was devoted to a round table with staff from a printing house, a publishing house and a bookstore with many very concrete discussions and certainly perspectives for those who wish to work in the book sector.
